Quote of the day...

"We didn't lose, we chose not to win."

This can be transferred into so many areas. Think about it. Do you make a conscious decision not to continue, but are at peace with the results?

I've been in situations where I knew I couldn't win but I didn't want to be defeated. I let time expire.... Moving ahead, perhaps I will win by taking more control of the situation. Like job seeking.

I know people want to help, but think before you give advise. Trust me, I've thought about everything you will suggest. I am on Indeed.com, LinkedIn, Monster, ,Idealist.org, Ladders and SimplyHired. I sent letters to companies posting, offering my resume, unsolicited. I network. I re-apply for jobs where they seem to have ghosted. And I have been on more interviews in this search than in my previous 20 years combined. Many have been a waste of time. Others were a Match - the one that got away.

I preemptively answer the questions many are asking about my life. Why am I looking? Why did I apply for this Position²? What are my Core Strengths? Even what are my weaknesses?

In every interview I give my all. I do the homework, dress the part- professionally, and practice my answers to the anticipated questions.

Interviewing is hard work. It is not fun. Having been on both sides of the desk, I know the interviewer is having even less fun than I am.

All is fair in love and war, but there are ways to ask questions without being The Antagonist.

I answer everything which is Appropriate, but I avoid subjects which will turn the tables on me.

Salary, for one. If the employer can't provide Salary Guides or what the range is, then it is not firm. It is a ploy to see what the candidate seeks.

And if an hour in a room with me, and five professional references, writing clips and a previous screening interview has not helped you to see who I am, a presentation/task will only provide you with free services.

If you candidly tell me you seek to use the presentation, then pay me for my time. I know I am already successful because I have a long history as a #servantleader with many Achievements on my Resumé. I also know that I have given my all in everything I do.

Now, it is time to achieve my current goal, and in so doing, help YOU, the EMPLOYERS, or RECRUITERS achieve yours. #work #jobs #linkedin #people #love #help #network #like #writing #interview #resume #recruiters #references #interviewing #jobseeking #wrestling #nonprofitleadership
